Investor Awareness Session by BSE at Sikh National College Banga
Banga/Nawanshahr- The Postgraduate Commerce Department of Sikh National College, Banga organized an investor awareness session in collaboration with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on the topic “Securities Market, Digital Fraud and Overview of Social Media.” The objective of the session was to promote financial literacy among students. The session began with a welcome address by the Principal, Dr. Tarsem Singh Bhinder, who highlighted the growing importance of financial education in today’s dynamic economic environment. He emphasized that awareness about financial markets enables students to make informed and responsible investment decisions in the future.
On this occasion, the keynote speakers Mr. Prince Singh and Mr. Mohit Dhal shared insights on various aspects of the capital market, including the basics of the stock market, investment opportunities, mutual funds, and the importance of savings. They also sensitized students about digital fraud and social media scams and explained the important role played by SEBI in protecting the interests of investors.
The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who actively interacted with the speakers and found the discussion highly informative and engaging. The program was effectively conducted by Gagandeep Kaur (M.Com). Dr. Kamaldeep Kaur, Head of the Postgraduate Commerce Department, appreciated this initiative and stated that such awareness sessions play a significant role in developing financial understanding among students and preparing them to make wise financial decisions in the future.
Faculty members from the Commerce Department as well as other departments of the college were also present on this occasion. The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Kamaldeep Kaur.
