Jalandhar: The 72nd Inter-Services Hockey Championship 2025-26, under the aegis of the Army Sports Control Board, will be held from 9 to 13 March 2026 at the Vajra Astroturf Hockey Stadium, Army Hockey Node (AHN), Jalandhar.
The tournament will feature four teams – Army Red, Army Green, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force – featuring some of the best hockey players from across the services. The championship will conclude with the final match and closing ceremony on 13 March 2026.
The Inter-Services Hockey Championship is one of the Armed Forces' biggest sporting events and serves as an important platform for identifying and nurturing talented players who will go on to represent the services at the national and international levels.
The opening ceremony will be inaugurated by Lieutenant General Ajay Chandpuria, AVSM, VSM, GOC, Vajra Corps, and will be attended by senior military officers, troops, veteran hockey players, and officials from the Punjab Government and the Indian Hockey Fraternity.
The championship aims to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and sporting excellence, while strengthening inter-service friendships through healthy competition. The Army Hockey Node, proudly located in the birthplace of Indian hockey in Jalandhar, plays a vital role in nurturing elite hockey talent within the Services through a scientific and well-organized training curriculum and competitive exposure.
The event will attract hockey enthusiasts, veteran players, and sports lovers from across the region to celebrate the enduring legacy of Services Hockey and its contribution to the national sporting landscape.
