International Yoga Day Celebrated with Enthusiasm at Prof Simmi Agnihotri Government College Haroli
Haroli/Una, June 21 (Rajveer Chopra): A yoga program was organized today at Prof. Simmi Agnihotri Government College, Haroli, to mark International Yoga Day, under the joint auspices of the Red Cross, NCC, and NSS units. Faculty members, staff, and students of the college participated enthusiastically, practicing various yoga *asanas* (postures) and *pranayama* (breathing exercises).
The objective of the program was to raise awareness about yoga among students and society and to inspire the adoption of a healthy lifestyle. Speaking on the occasion, College Principal Dr. Rajendra Kumar highlighted the importance of yoga, noting that it not only improves physical health but also fosters mental peace, concentration, and positive energy.
Volunteers from the NCC, NSS, and Red Cross units actively participated in the yoga session and encouraged everyone present to practice yoga regularly. At the conclusion of the event, the Principal expressed gratitude to all participants and urged them to make yoga an integral part of their daily lives.
This event proved to be a significant initiative in promoting health, discipline, and social awareness among the students.
Along with the College Principal, Dr. Nidhi Sharma, Captain Sonika Saini, Prof. Kalpana Sharma, Dr. Shakuntala Rana, Dr. Bindia Chandel, Dr. Richa Sharma, and Professor Jyoti Sharma also participated in the yoga session.
