Intergenerational Bonding Program Held at ITI Una

Una, February 20. A one-day intergenerational bonding program was organized today (Friday) at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Una. The main objective of the program was to strengthen communication between youth and senior citizens and to promote mutual understanding, respect, and cooperation between generations through the exchange of experiences, values, and ideas. Over 150 participants, including student trainees and senior citizens, participated in the program. Tehsil Welfare Officer Jatinder Sharma, Vivek, and members of the Senior Citizens Forum, Una, were also present.
The program was inaugurated by District Welfare Officer, Una, Awas Pandit. In his address, he elaborated on the importance of intergenerational dialogue, social harmony, and mutual respect. He emphasized the importance of discipline, hard work, and respect for elders in students' lives.
Interactive sessions were also held between students and senior citizens during the program, further strengthening mutual understanding, respect, and intimacy.
Forum members Kuldeep Sharma, Ashok Kalia, and G.R. Burma addressed the students, sharing their life experiences. Through poems and inspiring stories, they made students aware of the importance of moral values, discipline, and culture.
In addition, Ajay from HDFC Bank, Una, provided guidance to students on digital and financial literacy. He provided useful information on the importance of safe digital transactions, saving habits, and financial awareness. Suresh from IRCA Center, Ghaluwal, discussed the ill effects of drug abuse and encouraged students to stay away from drugs and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
A poster-making competition was also held for students, in which participants presented their creative ideas on the theme of "Intergenerational Bonding." Students who excelled were honored with prizes.
