Indian stock market closes in green
New Delhi: Indian markets closed in green on Friday. The Sensex rose nearly 329 points on Friday, led by strong gains in pharmaceutical and banking stocks and foreign capital inflows.
The 30-share BSE Sensex closed 328.72 points, or 0.40 percent, higher at 82,500.82. During the trade, it rose 482.01 points, or 0.58 percent, to a high of 82,654.11. The 50-share NSE Nifty closed 103.55 points, or 0.41 percent, higher at 25,285.35.
The rupee rose 10 paise to close at 88.69 (provisional) against the US dollar on Friday, supported by firm domestic markets and broad-based weakness in crude oil prices. Forex traders said the rupee recovered on the back of firm domestic markets and a decline in commodity prices overnight.
