Indian economy soars GDP growth rate at 77 percent government data boosts confidence
New Delhi:- Big and comforting news has come out for the Indian economy. According to official data released by the government, India's economy grew at a rapid pace of 7.7 percent in the financial year 2025-26. This growth rate is much better than the 7.1 percent rate of the previous financial year 2024-25. Earlier, in the February estimate, this rate was stated as 7.6%.
According to data released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, the GDP growth rate is estimated to be 7.8 percent in the last quarter (January-March) of the financial year 2025-26. This figure reflects the economic strength of the country. This is higher than the 7% growth recorded in the same quarter last year.
It is worth noting that India's GDP growth rate was 7.8% in the first quarter of FY26, 8.2% for the second quarter and 7.8% for the third quarter. On June 5, the Reserve Bank released its GDP estimates for FY27. The Reserve Bank has reduced the growth estimate for FY27 from 6.90% to 6.60%. In addition, the inflation estimate has been increased from 4.60% to 5.1%.
The ministry said that the size of GDP at constant prices is estimated to increase to Rs 323.12 lakh crore in the financial year 2025-26, while it was Rs 299.89 lakh crore in 2024-25.
If we talk about current prices, the size of GDP in 2025-26 is estimated to be Rs 346.36 lakh crore. This represents a growth of 8.9 percent over the previous year (2024-25) of Rs 318.07 lakh crore.
These figures make it clear that the Indian economy has maintained its strong grip on the global stage and is setting new milestones of growth.
