India is preparing vigorously to host 2036 Olympics Modi
Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today asserted that India is preparing vigorously to host the 2036 Olympic Games. Addressing the opening ceremony of the 72nd National Volleyball Championship here via video conference, Mr. Modi said that in the last decade, more than 20 major international tournaments have been organized in different cities, including the Under-17 FIFA World Cup, Hockey World Cup and major chess tournaments.
The 2030 Commonwealth Games will also be held in India. India is preparing with full force to host the 2036 Olympics. Over 1,000 players representing 58 teams from across the country will participate in the tournament, to be held from January 4 to 11.
The Indian volleyball team is expected to perform well in this tournament and the emphasis is on strengthening the sports infrastructure and promoting athletic development in the host city of the National Volleyball Tournament in Varanasi.
Mr. Modi said that he wants every youth of India to participate in sports for which all possible efforts are being made and no stone is being left unturned in providing sports infrastructure.
