Garhshankar:- Due to the increasing incidents of theft in Garhshankar city, there is an atmosphere of fear and anxiety among shopkeepers and city residents. This view was expressed by Satish Kumar Soni, founder president of Adarsh ??Social Welfare Society Punjab, during a press conference.
He said that in the last two months, copper pipes of air conditioners (AC) have been stolen from about 25 to 30 shops in the city. Due to these continuous thefts, there is an atmosphere of fear among the traders and the courage of the thieves is being boosted.
Satish Kumar Soni said that the gang stealing the copper pipes of AC is roaming around the city fearlessly, but so far no concrete action has been taken against them. He demanded that the police administration should take this matter seriously, identify the culprits and take strict legal action against them, so that the victim shopkeepers can get justice.
He said that the shortage of personnel in the police department could also be a major reason for such incidents. Therefore, the state government should fill the vacant posts in the police stations as soon as possible, so that law and order can be further strengthened and the safety of the common people can be ensured.
He demanded through the press from the state government and the police administration that effective steps be taken to check the increasing thefts in the city and to strengthen the sense of security among the people.
