Patiala:- Today, an important meeting of Bharatiya Kisan Union Revolutionary District Patiala was held here at Gurdwara Sahib, village Malo Majra under the chairmanship of District President Ranjit Singh Swajpur. In which the District Committee members discussed important issues. In which various farmer leaders spoke about the Electricity Amendment Bill 2025 brought by the Central Government and said that the Central Government is going to hand over the distribution of electricity across the country to private companies.
With which electricity will be completely privatized and the electricity related facilities that farmers and common poor consumers are getting. They will be closed and electricity will be given according to prepaid meters. Which will make it impossible for the poor people of the country to use electricity.
In this regard, the leaders said that on the call of Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, effigies of Modi government will be burnt across the village on 15, 16 and 17 November. So that people's opposition against the Electricity Amendment Bill can be registered and the general public should be made aware about it. After that, sit-ins will be held at the district headquarters in the month of December.
Apart from the above, it was decided in the meeting that Patiala district will participate in the march towards Delhi being held in Sambhu on December 14 on the call of the National Justice Morcha for the release of the imprisoned Sikhs.
In the meeting, the district committee leaders moved a resolution against the non-announcement of the dates of the Panjab University Senate elections and demanded that the central government keep its hands off the Panjab University and the leaders said that the farmers' union and the people of Punjab stand shoulder to shoulder with the students of Panjab University.
Just as the La Mizal rally was held at Panjab University on November 10, similarly, the union will participate in any further announcement made by the Punjab University Bachao Morcha in the future.
In the meeting, as part of preparations for the session of the Bharatiya Kisan Union Krantikari Krantikari, new membership will be cut in all the villages so that the sessions at the village, block, district and state levels can be held.
