Iftu burns copies of labor code in Nawanshahr
Nawanshahr, December 20:- The Indian Federation of Trade Unions (Iftu) burned copies of the labor code in Nawanshahr today. On this occasion, Iftu District Secretary Parveen Kumar Nirala, Bablu Kumar Saloh and other leaders said that the four labor codes implemented by the central government are a huge attack on the working class of the country.
They take away the basic rights from the working class, which the workers had achieved after decades of struggle and countless sacrifices. They take away the right to form a union, the right to strike from the working class, and attack employment security.
They abolish permanent jobs, increase the working hours and wages from eight hours to 12 hours. With this, the officials of the labor department will remain only as advisors, which will benefit the employers and harm the workers.
The leaders said that these codes have been brought by corporators to ruthlessly exploit the labor power of the workers. The leaders called upon the people to strongly oppose these codes.
