Mahilpur:- Panchayat members and respected residents of village Jian reached the office of MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar at Chabbewal and met him and discussed the ongoing development works and other problems in the village. The MLA, while reviewing the progress of the development works, assured to complete all the works on time. During this, it was informed that a sewerage project is underway in village Jian at a cost of about ?40 lakh.
Out of this, ?24 lakh had been released earlier, while out of the remaining ?16 lakh, ?8 lakh has now been released and the remaining amount will also be released soon, so that there is no hindrance in the work. The villagers thanked the MLA for the irrigation tubewell installed at a cost of 9 lakh, which will benefit the farmers of the village a lot.
Apart from this, grants of about Rs 27 lakh have been released for the development works of stadium, dharamshala, pond etc. Apart from this, Dr. Ishank Kumar informed that the road connectivity of Jian is also being strengthened at a cost of Rs 2.22 crore.
A network of roads around Jian including 1.15 km access road to Mandi Jian, 0.57 km from Hoshiarpur Garhshankar road to Jian, 0.37 km from Jian to Hoshiarpur Chandigarh road is being constructed, which will bring a major improvement in transportation and connectivity.
