HSGPC May Take Over Miri Piri Medical College at Any Moment
Karnal, May 12:- A wave of jubilation has swept through the Sikh community after the Punjab and Haryana High Court paved the way for handing over the management of Miri Piri Medical College to the Haryana Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGPC). The Court dismissed the petition filed by the Miri Piri Charitable Trust, thereby making the path easier for the Haryana Committee. This outcome was made possible solely through the efforts of Jathedar Baljit Singh Daduwal—an international *Panth Pracharak* (Sikh Preacher) and Chairman of the HSGPC's *Dharam Prachar* (Religious Propagation) wing.
For a long time, he had been waging a battle at every level to ensure that Miri Piri Medical College was handed over to the *Sangat* (congregation) of Haryana. The management of Miri Piri Medical College could now be handed over to the Haryana Committee at any moment. Entrusting its management to Haryana will benefit the local youth, as students from Haryana will receive priority during admissions. Furthermore, the local populace will gain access to affordable and accessible medical treatment. The Sikh *Sangat* has lauded Jathedar Daduwal's efforts in achieving this landmark decision.
Former HSGPC Executive Member Guruprasad Singh, along with Varinder Singh (President of the Gurpurab Management Committee) and Inderpal Singh (General Secretary), stated that the acquisition of Miri Piri Medical College by the Sikh *Sangat* of Haryana will fulfill the aspirations of the local people. They expressed confidence that the government, too, would hand over the management of the institution to the Sikh *Sangat* under the leadership of Jathedar Daduwal—a move that reflects the collective desire of the Sikh congregation.
