Hoshiarpur: Acting on the directions of the Honorable DGP Punjab, Hoshiarpur Police has launched the second phase of its special operation “Prahar-2” to crack down on crime and gangster activities in the district.
Giving details to the media, Senior Superintendent of Police Sandeep Malik said that the main objective of this operation is to eliminate active gangs in the district and effectively curb all types of criminal activities.
The SSP said that under this special operation, different police teams have been formed, which are conducting raids, surveillance, and keeping a close watch on the activities of suspicious elements based on intelligence inputs. He warned that strict legal action will be taken against those involved in illegal activities.
Under Prahar-2, the district police is working in coordination with various police stations. Inter-state criminal links are also being monitored, and history-sheeters and criminals released on parole are being regularly checked.
SSP Malik reiterated that the police department is fully committed to ensuring peace, law and order, and the safety of the general public in the district, and this operation will be intensified in the coming days.
