Una, August 15:- During the district-level Independence Day Occasion in Una, individuals who achieved excellence and made outstanding contributions in various fields were honoured by the Minister for Ayush, Youth Services and Sports.
Among those honoured for performing their duties with utmost honesty, dedication and excellence in the healthcare sector were Dr. Mohinder Kaushal, Medical Officer, CHC Basdehra; Dr. Sahil Kaundal, PHC Badhera Rajputan; Dr. Sanjeev Dhiman, CHC Kugrat; Dr. Ruchi, Medical Officer, PHC Bathri; Dr. Rampal Sharma, BMO Basdehra; Dr. Shingara Singh, BMO Haroli; Dr. Pankaj Parashar, BMO Gagret; District Nodal Officer Dr. Rahul Kaundal; Medical Officers Dr. Raj Kumar, Dr. Anju Soni, Dr. Rahul Katna, Dr. Ashok of Bangana; Rita Devi and Gulshan Kumar.
For rendering outstanding services in the Ayush Department, Dr. Arvind Kumar, Dr. Amandeep Saunkhla, Dr. Dheeraj Sandhu and Deepika Bhardwaj were honoured.
In the field of animal husbandry, Dr. Nishant Deep Singh, Dr. Shilpa Gupta and Mukesh Kumar were honoured for treating hundreds of animals and giving them a new lease of life.
For their excellent services in the Police Department, Vasudha Sood, who earlier served as Deputy Superintendent of Police in the Amb area and is currently serving as Deputy Assistant Commissioner in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, along with Inspector Prakash Chand, Assistant Inspector Anita Devi, Assistant Inspector Pawan Kumar, HHC Constable Balwinder Kumar, Inspector Gaurav Bhardwaj, Inspector Sunil Kumar, Assistant Inspector Deepak Kumar, Head Constable Jarnail Singh, HHC Saurabh Kumar, Constables Ajay Kumar, Rakesh Chand, Jasvir Singh, Rafiq Mohammad and Ravi Bedi were honoured.
From the Home Guards Department, HHG Keshav Kumar, SL Ashwani Kumar, Havildar Rohit Kumar, HHG Subhash Chand, HHG Mamta, Radha Rani, Gurbhag Singh, Fireman Rakesh Kumar, Ravindra Kumar and Chandramohan were honoured.
Coaches and players who performed exceptionally well in the field of sports were also felicitated. These included wrestling coach Prince Pathania, Youth Organizer Deepak Kumar, athletics coach Rakesh Kumar, volleyball coach Tape Ram Thakur, Sumit Thakur, Sahit Kumar, Mohit Kumar, Tarun Kumar, Anmol Sharma and Ravina Kumari.
A four-member team from Una district also displayed remarkable humanitarian spirit by providing essential relief material to people affected by the devastating floods in Assam. The team members stayed continuously in the flood-affected areas for 10 days, extending their services and assistance to affected families.
The team included senior journalist from Una Vishal Syal, Chairman of Devbhoomi Foundation Prince Thakur, and the organisation’s members Rajinder Kumar (Gagret) and Dinesh Kumar (Bahdala). All four worked with dedication under challenging circumstances to deliver relief to needy people and provide them with every possible assistance.
Besides, Davinder Kumar from the Electrical Wing of the Public Works Department, Una; Lieutenant Colonel S.K. Kalia; retired Education Department employee Satish Kumar; Manoj Kumar from the Electricity Department; Jamadar Mangat Ram from Municipal Corporation Una; Tikka, Kishore Kumar, Kuldeep Kumar and Raj Kumar, along with beneficiaries of the Samarthya Yojana, were also honoured.
The Samarthya Yojana beneficiaries honoured included Tanya Bhardwaj, Tanya Puri, Kanchan Puri, Janvi Sharma, Priyanka Sharma, Kanika Sharma, Priya Sharma, Sammeet Kaur, Payal Sharma, Ritu Devi, Sakshi, Lavnith Kumari, Jyoti, Bharti Patial, Aarti, Tanvi, Varinda, Harmeet Kaur, Kritika, Rani, Heena Kumari, Priyanka, Akanksha Chaudhary, Palak, Tamanna, Kajal Devi, Suhani, Aanchal, Kalpana Sharma, Anjali Saini, Lovepreet, Riya Saini, Kangana Raizada, Kashish Amrit, Madhu Devi, Anjali, Priya, Kashish, Anita, Raman Jhangri, Divya Verma, Sakshi Sharma, Shreya Sharma, Anjali, Priya Chaudhary, Marichika, Priyanka Thakur, Nandini Chaudhary and Bhavna Kumari.
On the occasion, the lucky draw organised by the District Red Cross Society was also conducted.
