Una, August 16: In view of the enthusiastic participation of students and teachers in Independence Day celebrations, all government schools in Una district will observe a holiday on August 17, 2026 (Monday). Una Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal has issued orders to this effect. The order also references the directives issued by the Director of Elementary Education, Himachal Pradesh.
According to the order, private schools that organized Independence Day celebrations, or whose students and teachers participated in functions at the school, sub-division, district, or state levels, may take an appropriate decision at their own level regarding granting a holiday on August 17.
The Deputy Commissioner has directed the principals and headmasters of all government schools to ensure compliance with the order. Meanwhile, principals and headmasters of private schools have been asked to make an appropriate decision regarding the holiday at their own level.
Additionally, the Deputy Director of Higher Education and the Deputy Director of Elementary Education, Una, have been instructed to inform the respective educational institutions under their jurisdiction about this matter and ensure necessary action is taken.
