Himachal Sikh Federation Expresses Gratitude to Deputy Chief Minister
Haroli/Una, March 22 (Rajveer Chopra): The name of Gurpalah Gram Panchayat, located in the Haroli subdivision, has now been officially changed to 'Gurpalah Sahib'. This decision has sparked a wave of joy within the region's Sikh community.
In light of this significant decision, the Himachal Sikh Federation has expressed its gratitude to the state's Deputy Chief Minister, Mukesh Agnihotri. Federation office-bearers—including State President Gurmez Singh Pubowal, Balwant Singh Badheda, Avtar Singh, Joginder Singh, Chanchal Singh, Sarwan Singh Aujla, and Manjit Singh Khalsa—stated that the demand to amend the Panchayat's name had been raised for a long time, a request that the government has now fulfilled.
The Federation officials remarked that this decision has not only honored the sentiments of the local populace but has also further strengthened the region's religious and cultural identity.
Meanwhile, local residents have also welcomed this decision, hailing it as a historic step.
