Health depends on cleanliness awareness is essential Renu Bala Gupta

Karnal: Mayor Renu Bala Gupta stated that cleanliness is not merely a matter of the city's aesthetics but serves as the strongest shield for the health of every family. Maintaining a clean environment is a collective responsibility to prevent waterborne diseases like diarrhea during the monsoon season. With this objective, special cleanliness and public awareness drives are being effectively conducted under the 'Stop Diarrhea Campaign'.
In this context, Mayor Renu Bala Gupta noted that, under the guidance of the state government and the leadership of the Urban Local Bodies Department, municipal authorities are working continuously to keep cities clean, safe, and healthy during the monsoon. Activities such as the regular cleaning of drains and public spaces, scientific management of solid waste, prevention of waterlogging, and raising public awareness about cleanliness are being implemented on a priority basis to eliminate conditions that could spread infection before they become a problem. She stated, "The resolve for cleanliness is the foundation of a healthy society. If every citizen cooperates in keeping their homes, neighborhoods, and surroundings clean, effective control can be achieved over numerous infectious diseases, including diarrhea. While municipal bodies are fulfilling their responsibilities with dedication, the success of this campaign is impossible without public participation."
Appealing to the citizens, the Mayor urged them to dispose of household and shop waste only at designated locations. She asked them not to dump solid waste into drains, to prevent water stagnation, to use clean drinking water, and to remain conscious of personal and community hygiene. She noted that small precautions not only protect families from diseases but also play a vital role in making the entire city healthy and clean.

**Campaign to Become a People's Movement**
Mayor Renu Bala Gupta expressed confidence that through the joint efforts of municipal bodies, the administration, and the general public, this cleanliness campaign would evolve into a people's movement. This would strengthen the goal of transforming Haryana into a diarrhea-free, clean, and healthy state. She called upon all citizens to embrace cleanliness, keep diarrhea at bay, and make every possible active contribution toward building a healthy Haryana.
