Hoshiarpur:- An felicitation ceremony was organized today at the office of Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur regarding sterilization fortnight. The ceremony was presided over by Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr. Balbir Kumar Ji and led by District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Ranjit Singh Ji. During the ceremony, surgeons and doctors who made outstanding contributions in sterilization fortnight, male health workers who motivated people for sterilization and senior medical officers of the concerned blocks were honored.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Balbir Kumar said that the main objective of sterilization fortnight is to make people aware about family planning services and strengthen maternal and child health in the district. He said that the health teams of our district have worked with great responsibility and dedication during the fortnight. With services like sterilization, we strengthen family health. He appreciated all the doctors and field staff who contributed to making this campaign a success.
He also appealed to the people to adopt family planning options with an open mind for a healthy family. He hoped that with the same responsibility and cooperation, the district will perform better in the field of family planning in the future as well. District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Ranjit Singh said that health teams from village to city have made people aware about safe and free family planning services.
He said that family planning is not just about population control, but is directly linked to the health security of mother and child, economic stability and social well-being. He thanked the surgeon teams, mail workers and block level medical officers who played a vital role in making the campaign a success.
