Health Department organizes awareness camp at Mohalla Neel Kanth

Hoshiarpur:- Health Department Hoshiarpur organized an awareness camp under Project Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) at Mohalla Neel Kanth, Hoshiarpur under the guidelines of Acting Civil Surgeon cum District Vaccination Officer Dr. Seema Garg. This camp was organized in collaboration with Shivalik Hills Welfare Society, Hoshiarpur, running under SOSVA-(N), Punjab, with the main objective of increasing awareness regarding maternal and child health and making people aware about government health services.
On this occasion, District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Ranjit Singh, Deputy Mass Media Officer Ravinder Jassal, Paramjit Kaur ANM, Gurvinder Kaur ANM, Sunita Devi ASHA Worker and Nirmala Devi Anganwadi Worker actively participated from the Health Department. Chief Advisor Shri Amarjit Hamrol, Jyoti Puri ANM and Neetu Kaur GNM from Shivalik Hills Welfare Society also attended the camp and provided necessary health information to the women.
During the camp, pregnant women, lactating mothers and children were made aware in detail about many important health topics. Dr. Ranjit Singh in his address said that the health of the mother and child is the strong foundation of any society. He said that regular health check-ups, complete vaccination and balanced nutrition during pregnancy not only restores the health of the mother, but also makes the future of the newborn child bright.
He appealed to the people to take maximum benefit of government health schemes. Deputy Mass Media Officer Ravinder Jassal gave detailed information to the mothers about the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months after birth, giving age-appropriate complementary and nutritious food to children after six months, proper care of children, use of iron-rich foods to prevent anemia, balanced diet, timely vaccination and importance of safe institutional deliveries.
During the camp, the experts gave satisfactory and detailed answers to the questions asked by the women. They were motivated to get regular health check-ups, keep their vaccination cards updated and get safe deliveries done in government hospitals.
