Haryana Technical Education Department focuses on connecting with industry
Chandigarh, November 19 - Under the leadership of Director General of Haryana Technical Education Department, Mr. Prabhjot Singh, 16 topper students paid an educational visit to Infosys, Rajiv Gandhi IT Park, Chandigarh. This visit is an important initiative towards making the students aware of the current working practices of the industry, new technologies and modern research activities.
Director General Mr. Prabhjot Singh said that industry exposure is very important to connect the students with the changing technological outlook at the global level. Under this thinking, the department is continuously organizing such educational visits.
Giving information in this regard, the spokesperson of the department said that students of Computer Science final year from all five SITs of Haryana and Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar and Deenbandhu Chhoturam University of Science and Technology, Murthal participated in this educational visit.
On arrival at Infosys, the team and students of the department were welcomed by Dimple Bhasin and Mr. Harpreet Singh. Infosys organized a special interactive session for the students on Artificial Intelligence, research work and emerging opportunities in the IT industry.
After this, the students were given a detailed tour of the Infosys campus, where they saw and understood the latest technologies, state-of-the-art labs, work culture and the current environment of the industry.
The spokesperson said that earlier, 28 students of the Department of Technical Education were also given an educational tour of ISRO Ahmedabad. This visit of Infosys is also the next important stage in the same series. Recently, students of Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering were taken on study tours to ISRO, Ahmedabad, CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh, PEC Chandigarh, SCL, Mohali, NABI, IIT Extension Campuses. The spokesperson said that under the guidance of Mr. Prabhjot Singh, more than 400 faculty members of Civil, Textile, Mechanical, Computer, Electrical, Electronic and Communication branches also visited IIT Campus, Navi Di.
