Chandigarh, November 3 - Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that the 59-year development journey of the state testifies to the fact that Haryana has covered a long journey towards prosperity and prosperity. He said that today Haryana is writing a new definition of prosperity.
He said that infrastructure has developed rapidly in the state. Under the skillful guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, we are taking Haryana towards innovation, infrastructure and inclusive growth. Our goal is that Haryana's balanced development. Be it city or village, poor or rich, everyone gets the benefits of development.
The Chief Minister was addressing the closing ceremony of the three-day cultural festival and exhibition organized on the occasion of 60th Haryana Day at Yavnika Garden, Sector-5 on Monday as the chief guest. He said that in this three-day festival, we not only saw but also felt the cultural, historical and developmental journey of our state. Our artists presented the living traditions of Haryana through folk songs and dances.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated and wished the artists who were honoured and said that these three-day events are not just a government program. They are a festival of the soul of Haryana. The students showed a glimpse of the future of the state through innovative and technical exhibitions. All of them made this festival a festival of the people and brought our culture and folk traditions alive on the stage and made this festival memorable.
He said that this time November has become a month of festivals. For the last three days, the entire state has been celebrating Haryana Day. Two days later, on November 5, the birth anniversary of the first Guru, Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji will be celebrated. This time, the International Gita Mahotsav is also starting from November 15 and will continue till December 5. In this 21-day festival, a unique confluence of culture, knowledge and spirituality will be seen. I congratulate and wish you all on all these festivals.
The Chief Minister said that this month, many programs are being organized across the state on the occasion of the 350th martyrdom day of the ninth Guru of the Hindu calendar, Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. On November 25, a state-level function will be organized in Kurukshetra on his martyrdom day. The month of November is the time for us to immerse ourselves in the waves of spirituality.
Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that Haryana has only 1.34 percent of the country's area and 2.09 percent of the population. But today the state's contribution to the country's GDP is 3.6 percent. Haryana's per capita income is the highest among the big states, about 3 lakh 53 thousand rupees, while in 1966 it was only 343 rupees. At that time, the state's exports were only 4 crore 50 lakh rupees, which has now increased to 2 lakh 75 thousand crore rupees. We are also leading among the big states in per capita GST collection. 250 Fortune-500 companies of the world have their offices in Haryana. He said that Haryana is the first state where 24 crops are purchased at MSP. The price of sugarcane is the highest at 415 rupees per quintal. Similarly, we have made the highest social pension at 3 thousand 200 rupees per month.
The Chief Minister said that we are grateful to the agricultural scientists and farmers, due to whose talent and hard work Haryana is the leader in food grain production today. In the year 1966, food grain production was about 26 lakh tonnes, which has now increased to 206 lakh tonnes. Talking about animal husbandry, Haryana is a state that produces rivers of milk and curd from its Murra buffaloes and Sahiwal cows. In the year 1966, roads, electricity and water were the only means of transportation in the state. Now every village here is connected by a paved road. Now the villages and dhanis are also shining with electric lights, water is reaching every house in the state from the tap. There are many canals and other means available for irrigation. Shri Naib Singh Saini said that Haryana is today a major center of automobile, IT and other industries. The credit for this goes to our industrialists and laborers. Our engineers and planners are commendable, who have developed a very good and modern infrastructure here. Today, the state has a wide network of sparkling highways, expressways, railways and metro rail. The unnamed overbridges and flyovers built on them are making the life of the people easier.
The Chief Minister said that many world-class educational institutions have been opened in Haryana to impart education in every course and subject of modern education, where students from other states also go to study. In sports too, our youth have brought glory to the country and the state by winning medals in international competitions. Our policy of giving government jobs to the youth without any expense slip is being discussed across the country. Haryana is the first state in the country to have implemented the new National Education Policy.
He said that women have played an equal role in the all-round development of the state. Traditionally, it has made a significant contribution to the state's economy through agriculture, animal husbandry and home industries. Now, our girls are flying flags in sports. They are scaling the heights of space, flying planes. In modern times, the women of Haryana are doing the work of production, manufacturing and marketing of various products with full efficiency. Their talent is admired both in the country and abroad.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister honored the winning artists of various competitions. Shakanwati of Shri Vishwakarma Skill University Dudhaula, Palwal was awarded first prize, Archana of Chaudhary Randhir Singh University Jind was awarded second prize and Sahitya of Sanatan Dharam College, Ambala Cantt was awarded third prize with a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh, Rs. 75,000 and Rs. 50,000 respectively.
