Haryana Governments PAX is a big gift to farmers
Chandigarh, December 10:- Providing a big relief to the farmers associated with the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PAX) of the state, Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini announced a one-time settlement scheme for the settlement of outstanding payment loans. This scheme will be applicable till March 31, 2026. Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Mr. Shyam Singh Rana was also present on this occasion.
The Chief Minister was addressing a press conference organized at the Civil Secretariat on Wednesday. Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Mr. Shyam Singh Rana was also present on this occasion.
The Chief Minister said that he, as the Finance Minister, had announced to bring a scheme under the settlement of outstanding payment loans of farmers by PAX in the Budget Session 2025-26. Accordingly, this scheme has been brought today.
He said that under this scheme, if the farmers who take loans from PAX deposit the principal amount of their loans in the accounts of the committee, then their entire outstanding interest will be waived. Under this scheme, interest of Rs 2,266 crore will be waived off for 6,81,182 farmers and poor laborers of the state.
The Chief Minister said that this scheme is for all those indebted farmers who have taken crop loans, cultivator loans or shopkeeper loans, which have become due on September 30, 2024, they can take advantage of this scheme.
Apart from this, the families of 2.25 lakh deceased farmers can also take advantage of this scheme. If their heirs deposit the principal amount, then they will also get the benefit of interest waiver. This amount is about Rs 900 crore.
The Chief Minister said that under this scheme, after depositing the principal amount in the committee, the farmers can take a new loan in three installments for their next crop after a month.
