Haryana Governments big step towards providing plots to the poor
Chandigarh, March 18:-Riana Development and Panchayat Minister Mr. Krishan Lal Panwar said that the state government has received proposals from more than 2500 gram panchayats in which there has been a demand for allotting plots to poor and needy families. Based on these proposals, the government is speeding up the survey work. As soon as the survey work is completed, plots will be allotted to the eligible beneficiaries soon, due to which the dream of owning a house of the poor families will be fulfilled.
Mr. Krishan Lal Panwar was answering a question asked by MLA Mr. Aditya Devi Lal during the Question Hour in the Budget Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha on Wednesday.
He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini, the state government is continuously working to provide housing to the poor and needy as per the vision of Housing for All. Under this important scheme, plots of 100 yards in villages, 50 yards in mega villages and 30 yards in urban areas will be provided.
Shri Krishan Lal Panwar informed the House that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban, 78,257 beneficiaries have been benefited in the state from the year 2015-16 to 31 January 2026, out of which 24,590 beneficiaries are from Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes. During this, financial assistance of Rs. 586.20 crore was distributed to these Scheduled Caste/Backward Classes beneficiaries under the beneficiary-based construction and credit linked subsidy scheme components.
Apart from this, under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin, 1,17,619 beneficiaries have been benefited in the state from 2014-15 to January 2026. Out of which 63,687 beneficiaries belong to Scheduled Castes. Financial assistance of Rs. 369.05 crore was given to these beneficiaries for construction of houses.
