Haryana Government amends bank empanelment policy

Chandigarh, October 13 - Haryana Government has made important changes in the policy regarding empanelment of banks dealing with government transactions in the state.
Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Rastogi, who also holds the charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, has issued revised guidelines in this regard.
As per the revised policy, the Finance Department has abolished the deposit limit of Rs 50 crore for those banks (excluding small finance banks) which have been empanelled with the state government for the first time. Now such banks will be considered as empanelled with the state government before other banks.
The deposit limit allowed for small finance banks with any one department and any one bank has been increased from Rs 25 crore to Rs 50 crore. All other conditions mentioned in the previous circular remain unchanged.
At present, a total of 26 banks have been empanelled with the state government for government transactions. These include public sector, private sector as well as small finance banks.
