Grant of Rs 84 lakh released for 42 floodaffected villages of Chabbewal
Hoshiarpur:- In a major step, the Punjab government has released a grant of Rs 84 lakh to 42 villages in Chabbewal assembly constituency to expedite the cleaning, fogging and other works of flood-affected villages with immediate effect. Chabbewal MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar informed that many villages of the constituency were severely affected during the recent floods.
Keeping this situation in mind and to provide relief, now this amount has been released for cleaning, fogging etc. of our villages. MLA Dr. Ishank distributed the sanction letters of this assistance amount to the concerned panchayats at Mahilpur Rest House. MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar said that releasing this amount is a commendable effort by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to save these villages from the adverse effects of floods.
He said that with this special grant, the work of removing silt, cleaning drains, removing debris accumulated on the roadsides, and repairing the water drainage system in the flood-affected villages will be done quickly, so that the people do not face any problem in returning to normal life.
Dr. Ishank Kumar said that the Punjab government is working keeping the interests of the people first and no one will be allowed to feel alone in times of disaster. He also directed the local administration to complete the cleaning and restoration work in all the villages at a fast pace immediately, so that the people get relief and strong management is also made to face such situations in the future.
