Grand conclusion of the 20th historic Shri Guru Ravidas Jor Mela
Una, January 23: The closing ceremony of the 20th grand and historic Shri Guru Ravidas Jor Mela, dedicated to Meera Bai, was held on Thursday in Santoshgarh amidst an atmosphere of devotion, enthusiasm, and social unity. Punjab Scheduled Castes Commission Chairman Jasbir Singh Garhi attended as the chief guest.
He paid his respects at the Shri Guru Ravidas Temple and viewed the exhibitions showcasing the glorious history of the temple.
Mr. Garhi extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the large gathering and the fair management committee for this grand and historic event.
Addressing the gathering, Jasbir Singh Garhi highlighted the teachings of Saint Shri Guru Ravidas, stating that Saint Ravidas continuously strived to eliminate discrimination from society and unite people. His thoughts convey the message of social harmony, mutual brotherhood, and equality. The teachings of Saint Ravidas inspire us to live together and build an ideal, just, and inclusive society.
In his address, he also remembered Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. He said that Baba Saheb gave the message to society to be educated, organized, and aware of their rights. He said that education is most essential for the development and upliftment of society, and the younger generation should take inspiration from Dr. Ambedkar's life and social reform work and make education their life's goal.
On this occasion, he also honored and encouraged the dedicated individuals who contributed to the construction of the Shri Guru Ravidas Temple Santoshgarh and worked for the upliftment of society.
During the event, Kunwar Jagveer Singh Sinhungra, son of the late Singara Ram Sinhungra, the founder of the Jor Mela, welcomed all the guests and expressed his gratitude to all the devotees and organizers who contributed to the success of the fair.
On this occasion, Balwant Singh, President of the Jod Mela Committee, Kulwinder Bains, President of Guru Ravidas Religious Sabha Santoshgarh, Sant Baba Kewal Singh Surargarh, Sant Baba Surender Singh Surargarh, Sant Baba Sucha Singh Bhauria Sahib, Sant Baba Jagdish Singh, Gurlal, Saila Goldy, Surjit, Rinku, and other dignitaries were present.
