Governor approves special session of Punjab Vidhan Sabha

Chandigarh:- Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria has approved the special session of the Vidhan Sabha called by the Punjab government in protest against the amendments made in the MGNREGA scheme by the Central Government. This special session is going to be held on December 30.
Earlier, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that we are not against changing the name of the MGNREGA scheme, but the amendments that have been made will deprive the rights of the poor people.
He said that we have called a special session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha on December 30 to discuss this issue, which will begin at 11 am. We will discuss the amendments made in this scheme in the Vidhan Sabha.
