Because Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria has approved the ‘Jagat Jyot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Bill 2026’ passed in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha. This information was given by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann himself through his social media account this morning.
The Chief Minister said that now this bill has become a law. Along with this, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann thanked God for granting him such a service.
It is noteworthy that this bill was unanimously passed in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha on April 13, on the day of Baisakhi. The Mann government had already made it clear that since this is an amendment to the state act, it did not require the approval of the President and it could be implemented only with the consent of the Governor.
