Government policies responsible for the deteriorating economic condition of farmers Vishnudutt

Fatehabad, January 4: A meeting of the All India Kisan Sabha (All India Farmers' Association) will be held on January 5 at 12 noon at Tau Devi Lal Park, Bhattu Mandi, to demand compensation for crop and farm damage caused by waterlogging and payment of insurance claims. After discussing the farmers' demands, the future course of action for the movement will be decided. This information was given by the district president of the Kisan Sabha, Vishnudutt Sharma.
He was addressing a general body meeting of farmers from Badopal village and surrounding hamlets today. The meeting was presided over by Shankar Lal. On this occasion, a membership drive was also launched by the Kisan Sabha in Badopal and the surrounding hamlets. A 25-member committee was also formed for the membership drive.
Hans Raj Godara, Panchayat member, was appointed as the president, Satbir Singh Karwasra as the secretary, Bhagwan Das as the joint secretary, Pawan Godara as the treasurer, Sundar Singh, Shyam Sundar, Ramniwas, and Kuldeep Godara as vice-presidents, and Ramdhari, Vijender Karwasra, Ramdhari, Sushil Kumar, Hawasingh, Radheshyam Godara, Ram Gopal, Salender, Sunil, Ram Niwas, Subhash Godara, Dharmpal, Siga Ram Dungar, Rameshwar Jyani, Ramesh, and Amandeep were appointed as committee members.
Addressing the meeting, District President Vishnudutt said that due to the government's indifference and anti-farmer policies, farmers and laborers are being crushed under the burden of debt. False propaganda is being spread about the purchase of crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP), but the reality is quite the opposite. Crops are being damaged in the fields due to natural calamities.
The government is completing the remaining damage. Neither are farmers being given compensation for damaged crops, nor are they getting fair prices for their produce. In such a situation, the economic condition of the farmers is continuously deteriorating. Not a single penny of the insurance claims or compensation for the damage caused by waterlogging has been deposited into the farmers' accounts by the insurance companies.
They demanded that the government immediately release the outstanding compensation of approximately 7 crore rupees for the year 2022 to the farmers of Baropal, in addition to compensation for the damage caused to crops and houses due to waterlogging in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
They also demanded that the damaged canals be repaired immediately. They stated that a decision regarding the future course of action would be taken after discussing all these issues in a meeting scheduled for January 5th.
