Government giving grants for cultivation of horticultural crops

Chandigarh, November 8 - The Haryana government is making new provisions for the farmers for cultivation of horticultural crops. For this, farmers are being encouraged for cultivation of horticulture, fruits, vegetables, flowers and spices.
Giving detailed information in this regard, a spokesperson of the Industries Department said that horticultural agriculture includes planting new orchards, vegetable farming with an integrated model, fruit farming, spice farming and aromatic plant farming.
He said that for the cultivation of these spices, farmers will be given a grant of Rs. 24,500 to Rs. 1,40,000 per acre for planting new gardens, Rs. 15,000 per acre for vegetable cultivation under the integrated model, Rs. 25,500 per acre for the Scheduled Caste, Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 30,000 per acre for spice cultivation, Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 40,000 per acre for flower cultivation and Rs. 8,000 per acre for aromatic plants cultivation. The grant will be paid directly into the farmer's account. The grant assistance limit will be given up to a maximum of 5 acres.
The spokesperson said that to avail the benefits of the schemes, the application process and the grant area limit, farmers can register on the Hortnet portal (hortnet.hortharyana.gov.in). Apart from this, the farmer seeking the benefit should have his application and necessary documents like personal details, family identity card, complete details of the applicant's bank account and where necessary, Scheduled Caste certificate.
