Government at the Doorstep Irrigation Camp Held at Harchandpura Village

Dhuri, January 5:- On the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, a special irrigation camp was organised today at village Harchandpura in the Dhuri Assembly constituency to ensure the supply of canal water to farmers’ fields. A large number of farmers from villages Dhandra, Dohla and Harchandpura participated in the camp. Deputy Commissioner Rahul Chaba, Chairman of the Punjab Small Industries Corporation Dalvir Singh Dhillon, Chairman of Market Committee Dhuri Rajwant Singh Ghulli and SDM Rishabh Bansal were present on the occasion.
Deputy Commissioner Rahul Chaba said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the entire administration is committed to resolving people’s problems on a priority basis. He assured that all issues faced by villagers would be addressed without delay. He added that large-scale work is underway across Sangrur district to supply canal water to agricultural fields, and villages that have not yet received this facility will also be covered soon.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman Dalvir Singh Dhillon said that during a recent public interaction held by the Chief Minister in the Dhuri Assembly constituency, residents of village Harchandpura and nearby villages had raised the demand for canal water. Acting promptly on the Chief Minister’s directions, a special camp was organised today to prepare a concrete plan for supplying canal water to Harchandpura and adjoining villages.
He further stated that the Chief Minister has taken a major initiative to connect fields with canal water, as a result of which large areas of the state are receiving canal water after decades. This initiative is also proving effective in checking the rapidly declining groundwater level.
Chairman of Market Committee Dhuri, Rajwant Singh Ghulli, said that the Chief Minister began working on providing canal water to farmers from the very first day, including large-scale strengthening and lining of canals. He added that in the coming days, canal water will also be extended to other villages.
