New Delhi:- Prime Minister Narendra Modi met two-time Olympic medallist and former world champion Neeraj Chopra and his wife Himani More at his residence. Sharing a picture of this special meeting on social media, Prime Minister Modi said that he discussed several important issues including sports with the javelin star.
Neeraj Chopra is one of India’s most successful athletes, who created history by winning a gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The year 2025 has been very special for Neeraj, where he set a new milestone by throwing his best throw of 90.23 meters in the Doha Diamond League.
Although his streak of 26 consecutive top-2 finishes was snapped during the Tokyo World Championship in September, he continued his stellar performances throughout the season. It is worth mentioning that recently, Neeraj was also given the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
