Gold and silver prices hit new highs
New Delhi: The trend of rising gold and silver continues. Gold and silver prices rose in the national capital on Tuesday amid strong investor demand and rising geopolitical and trade tensions. Both the precious metals touched record highs.
According to market experts, gold of 99.9 percent purity jumped by Rs 7,300 or 4.6 percent to a record high of Rs 1,66,000 per 10 grams (including all taxes). The yellow metal had closed at Rs 1,58,700 per 10 grams on Friday. Bullion markets were closed on Monday due to the 77th Republic Day.
On the other hand, silver's luster also continued to maintain. Silver outperformed gold in another session in the bullion markets. The white metal touched a new high of Rs 3,70,000 per kg (inclusive of all taxes), up by Rs 40,500 or 12.3 per cent. It had settled at Rs 3,29,500 per kg in the previous trading session.
