Girls Must Get Vaccinated to Prevent Serious Diseases Civil Surgeon
Hoshiarpur: The Bharat Vikas Parishad—an organization continuously active in the fields of social service and public welfare—has once again fulfilled its civic duty by undertaking a significant initiative. Under the leadership of its President and prominent social worker, Sanjeev Arora, the organization handed over 4,000 consent forms to the Health Department. Through these forms, 14-year-old girls will receive the HPV (Human Papillomavirus) vaccine, a program that constitutes a vital component of the State Government's health scheme.
Distinguished guests present on this occasion included Civil Surgeon Dr. Mandeep Kamal, District Immunization Officer Dr. Seema Garg, District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Ranjit Singh, District Health Officer Dr. Jitendra Bhatia, District Program Manager Mr. Mohammad Asif, and Bharat Vikas Parishad's Senior Vice Presidents, Vijay Arora and Ashwani Kumar Datta.
Speaking on the occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr. Mandeep Kamal expressed his gratitude to the Bharat Vikas Parishad, emphasizing that administering this vaccination to girls aged 14–15 is crucial for preventing diseases such as cervical cancer in the future. He appealed to the residents of both the city and the villages to ensure that their daughters receive this preventive vaccination, and urged them to raise awareness among their neighbors so that diseases can be averted in a timely manner.
District Immunization Officer Dr. Seema Garg stated that these consent forms would soon be distributed door-to-door across various localities by field staff. This initiative aims to provide people with detailed information regarding the importance of the HPV vaccine and to obtain their consent. She further remarked that this vaccination drive represents a major stride toward ensuring the health and safety of young girls, and that the cooperation of every section of society is essential for its success.
On this occasion, the Parishad's President, Sanjeev Arora, along with Vijay Arora, affirmed that the Bharat Vikas Parishad stands committed to working shoulder-to-shoulder with the Health Department to ensure the success of this scheme. They also clarified that the Parishad is not merely providing the consent forms; it will also conduct awareness campaigns to educate parents about the significance of this vaccination, thereby enabling the maximum number of girls to benefit from this initiative. He stated that if our children are healthy, both our society and our nation will become strong.
Healthy girls constitute the very foundation of an empowered nation; Mr. Arora, therefore, appealed to parents to give their consent without any hesitation and become a part of this public-welfare scheme. He further remarked that this initiative clearly demonstrates that when social organizations and government departments work in tandem, it becomes possible to bring about positive change in society. This initiative by the Bharat Vikas Parishad undoubtedly serves as an inspiring example for society and will provide a new direction to the campaign for safeguarding the health of girls.
