Girls are most vulnerable in todays digital age Gavai

New Delhi- Chief Justice of India BR Gavai said that girls are most vulnerable in today's digital age. He said that in this digital age, girls are facing many kinds of problems. This technology has become a means of exploitation from many sides.
Addressing a national event organized by the Juvenile Justice Committee of the Supreme Court and UNICEF India, Mr. Gavai said that today girls have to deal with online harassment, cyber bullying, misuse of personal information and deepfake images.
He said that at present, despite constitutional guarantees, we have to fight for basic rights, at present, girls are deprived of their rights.
He said that policy makers and implementing authorities should formulate policies keeping in mind the current situation, in this regard, training programs should be started for police officers, educators, health professionals and local administration officials and employees. Apart from this, efforts should be intensified to eliminate exploitation of girls, human trafficking, child marriage and discrimination.
