General Body Meeting of CPIM Tehsil Committee Held at Garhshankar

Garhshankar: Today, a general body meeting of the CPI(M) Tehsil Committee was held at Dr. Bhag Singh Hall, Garhshankar, under the chairmanship of Chaudhary Achhar Singh. Addressing the gathering, CPI(M) District Secretary and State Secretariat Member, Comrade Gurnek Singh Bhajjal, stated that on May 29, a major protest of farmers and agricultural laborers will be held at Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall, Jalandhar, against the anti-people policies of the Central Government. 
He criticized the introduction of the Seed Bill, which he claimed renders the agricultural sector helpless before corporate companies, and noted that the agricultural agreement signed with America would harm farming interests. He also expressed serious concern over the law and order situation in Punjab. He appealed to everyone to reach Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall, Jalandhar, to oppose the Electricity Act 2025 and to demand five-marla plots for agricultural laborers along with a 5 lakh rupee grant for house construction.
On this occasion, Comrade Darshan Singh Mattu and Comrade Subhash Mattu urged party workers to initiate door-to-door campaigning to ensure the victory of Kulwinder Sangha in the Garhshankar Municipal Council elections. They also appealed to the administration to conduct the elections in a fair and impartial manner. Party Tehsil Secretary Mahinder Kumar Badoan emphasized that every worker must work diligently for the betterment of the party and implement the aforementioned agendas with full dedication. 
Additionally, the party passed resolutions supporting the ongoing struggles and demands of contractual sanitation workers and electricity board employees. The event saw the presence of Neelam Rani, Gurbakhsh Kaur, Joginder Thadi, Gopal Thadi, Sukhwinder Singh, Jujhar Singh, Balveer Singh, Amarjeet Singh, Sukhwinder Kaur, Avtar Singh Kalsi, and Bakhshish Singh. In the conclusion, Chaudhary Achhar Singh thanked all the attending comrades.
