Free medical camp organized by the health department in Chabbewal
Mahilpur:- As per the directions of Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr. Mandeep Kamal, a free health check-up camp was organized in village Chabbewal under the leadership of Senior Medical Officer Dr. Manpreet Singh Bains. In which more than 100 people were examined. On this occasion, Dr. Manpreet Singh Bains said that the Punjab government is committed to providing quality health facilities to the people and the government's effort is to provide good health facilities at the doorsteps of the common people.
He said that in this camp, a team of doctors examined the health of the villagers and free medicines were given to the patients. During the camp, blood pressure, sugar, HB and common diseases were checked. The doctors made people aware of adopting a healthy lifestyle and preventing diseases. He said that the main purpose of such medical camps is to provide health services to the people living in the villages.
On this occasion, Block Extension Educator Amandeep Singh, who was present, gave information in the camp about the Chief Minister's Health Scheme launched by the government for the residents of Punjab. He said that MMSY is a major healthcare scheme of the government which provides cashless second and third level medical care to all the certified citizens of Punjab.
Under this scheme, the residents of Punjab can get their treatment done in more than 900 government and private listed hospitals without any financial hassle. He said that MMSY cards are being made free of cost by organizing special camps in all the common service centers and villages. Aadhaar card and voter card are required to make these cards. He appealed to the people to go to the CSC centers and the special camps being held and make MMSY cards.
On this occasion, STS Bhupinder Kaur informed the people about the 100 days TB-free campaign regarding the prevention of TB disease. He said that TB is now incurable and it is treated free of cost in government hospitals, so the patient need not panic now. Under this campaign, tests and X-rays of suspected patients are done free of cost by the Health Department.
He said that if someone experiences symptoms like prolonged cough (often more than two weeks), coughs that worsen at night, mild or moderate fever, feeling of fatigue and weakness, sudden or unexplained weight loss, chest pain and tightness due to lung infection, coughing up blood etc., then they should definitely get their TB test done so that this disease can be treated on time.
