Kapurthala:- The Language Department, Punjab, periodically organizes various activities with the aim of promoting book culture. Under the guidance of the Punjab Government, the Language Department, Punjab, will provide free books under the Book Matching Grant scheme. This scheme, launched under the leadership of S. Jaswant Singh Zafar, Director of the Language Department, Punjab, can be availed by schools, colleges, and rural libraries.
Assistant Director, S. Tejinder Singh Gill, shared information that whatever amount of books an institution purchases, the Language Department will provide books of the same value for free to that institution. District Language Officer, Kapurthala, Mrs. Jaspreet Kaur, has appealed to all schools, colleges, and rural libraries to make the most of this Punjab Government scheme.
Institutions interested in purchasing books can submit a request letter from the head of the institution on their official letterhead at the District Language Office, Kapurthala. The District Language Officer further informed that a special discount is also provided by the Language Department, Punjab, on these books. This is a beneficial scheme available for a limited time.
