Former Bishnoi gang member Jagdeep Singh alias Jagga arrested in US
Abohar/Sriganganagar- Immigration and Customs Enforcement has arrested Jagdeep Singh alias Jagga, a former active member of Lawrence Bishnoi gang and currently working for Rohit Godara gang, from the US-Canada border. The Anti-Gangster Task Force of Rajasthan Police played a key role in Jagga’s arrest. Confirming the arrest, the Anti-Gangster Task Force said that legal proceedings have been initiated to bring Jagga back to India. Official sources said that Jagga, a resident of Dhurkot, Punjab, was a fugitive for a long time and the Anti-Gangster Task Force teams were actively searching for him.
Jagga’s gang is mainly active in Punjab and Rajasthan. He has more than a dozen cases registered against him in Punjab and the court has declared him a fugitive criminal. In March 2017, Jagga was sent to jail along with Lawrence Bishnoi and Anmol Bishnoi in the case of firing and threatening to kill Dr. Sunil Chandak in Jodhpur's Pratap Nagar police station area.
He was also involved in the murder of Vasudev Asrani in Jodhpur's Sardarpura police station area in September 2017. After getting bail, he fled to Dubai about three years ago and from there illegally went to the US.
This is the second major achievement of the Rajasthan Anti-Gangster Task Force this month. Earlier, following an international operation jointly conducted by the Anti-Gangster Task Force and the Interpol wing of the CBI, Amit Sharma alias Jack Pandit, a key member of the Lawrence Bishnoi-Rohit Godara-Goldie Brar gang network, was detained in the US.
Amit Sharma, who was once the main operator of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, later joined hands with Rohit Godara and Goldie Brar. His main role was to coordinate financial matters, handle extortion and hawala transactions abroad and fund criminal activities in India.
According to official sources, the US agencies detained the gangster after receiving a Red Corner Notice and intelligence information from Indian authorities. Efforts are now underway to bring him back to India to face trial in several criminal cases registered in Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana.
Sources said that under the directions of Rajasthan Additional Director General of Police (Crime and AGTF) ??Dinesh MN, the AGTF traced Amit Sharma's activities through Dubai, Spain and several other countries before reaching the US
