Formal inauguration of Cooking Camp at Khalsa College Mahilpur
Garhshankar, June 4:- At Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Mahilpur, alongside academic studies for various courses, an initiative is underway to connect students with employment-oriented and skill-based programs. Under this initiative, the Food Production and Catering Management Department formally inaugurated a special Summer Cooking Camp to train students in preparing seasonal summer food items with purity.
The camp was inaugurated by the College Principal, Dr. Parvinder Singh, who welcomed the participating students. He stated that students enrolling in such courses contribute to a healthy society by preparing pure food products, and they also establish a path for self-employment alongside their studies.
On this occasion, Arun Mahajan, Chief Instructor of the Food Production and Bakery Department, said that this camp will continue until June 12, followed by a second phase starting on June 15, where training will be provided on preparing seasonal summer and monsoon beverages. He invited students to register for the next camp.
Principal Dr. Parvinder Singh added that three-month certificate courses in 'Food Production and Bakery' and 'Cooking and Catering Management' have commenced at the college, and admissions for this session have begun at a very nominal fee. He stated that students who have passed their 10th or 12th-grade exams are eligible for these courses, and students currently pursuing 12th grade or undergraduate programs at the college can also enroll in these courses alongside their regular studies. Dr. Varinder Singh, Dr. Raj Kumar, Dr. Jatinder, Harinder Sunny, and other staff members were present at the event.
