Forensic investigation finds video not tampered with Speaker
New Delhi: Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta on Saturday said that the forensic science laboratory report of the video of Opposition leader Atishi allegedly disrespecting Sikh gurus has arrived, stating that the clip is genuine and has not been tampered with.
Delhi AAP president Saurabh Bhardwaj dismissed the report, saying it did not answer the key question of whether Atishi had uttered the word "guru"; he claimed that Atishi had not used any such word and the BJP was trying to spread religious instability through the video.
Earlier, the AAP-ruled Punjab police had claimed that their forensic investigation found the video doctored, following which AAP chief whip Sanjiv Jha had sought action against Kapil Mishra under breach of privilege.
Speaker Gupta told a press conference that the video was sent for investigation on January 8 only on the AAP's demand and the report clearly shows that the comment matches the frames of the video. Gupta alleged that the Punjab government had registered an FIR by conducting its own investigation "in a hurry" and now he would demand a CBI probe into the entire matter and the Punjab government's forensic report.
He said that Atishi should apologise, otherwise the Vidhan Sabha would take strict action. The controversy started on January 6 over the alleged comment made during a discussion in the Vidhan Sabha on the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. While Atishi has accused the BJP of playing dirty politics, Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra said that the FSL report has proven Atishi's "guilt"
