Bamiyal:- A major success has been achieved during the special operation launched by the Pathankot Police against illegal weapons. Acting on a tip-off, the police has arrested a person from whom a large quantity of sophisticated weapons and ammunition has been recovered.
Giving information on this subject in a press conference in Pathankot, DGP Punjab Border Range Sandeep Goyal said that on January 17, 2026, the CIA staff of Pathankot arrested a person on suspicion during the blockade and on the basis of interrogation, a search operation was conducted in the border area of ??Bamiyal and a cache of weapons hidden in the area near the border was recovered. 
During the search, the police recovered three AK-47 rifles, five magazines, two pistols - one Turkish-made and one Chinese-made - and 98 live cartridges of different calibers. The police have registered a case under various sections in this matter and further action has been initiated.
