Food Safety Teams Inspect MidDay Meals in Various Schools
Hoshiarpur:- As per the directions of Civil Surgeon Dr. Balbir Kumar Ji, 2 inspection teams were formed by the Health Department to inspect the mid-day meals, which checked the schools in Hoshiarpur urban areas and Mahilpur area. On this occasion, 3 samples of lentil, gram and rice were filled.
For checking mid-day meals in schools in urban areas, a team of District Health Officer Dr. Jatinder Bhatia and Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Ajay Basra visited various schools in Hoshiarpur city and inspected the mid-day meals being prepared for the students and made them aware about paying special attention to cleanliness while preparing food.
Dr. Jatinder Bhatia said that in Mahilpur area, Food Safety Officers Vivek Kumar and Ishan Bansal also went to government schools to check mid-day meals and collected samples. On this occasion, District Health Officer Dr. Jatinder Bhatia, while making the workers preparing mid-day meals aware, said that special attention should be paid to the cleanliness of the place where food is prepared.
Clean and separate dusters should be used to clean surfaces and wipe utensils. Separate and covered dustbins should be used for food waste. It should be ensured that all food and drink items are kept covered.
He said that hands should be washed before and after handling food, after using the toilet and after coughing, sneezing etc. He also stressed on paying special attention to hand hygiene. He directed that the FSSAI norms must be followed for preparing mid-day meals.
Dr. Jatinder Bhatia said that for the healthy life of the students, it is necessary that they take special care of cleanliness of themselves and their surroundings.
