Food Safety Team Collected 6 Samples of Food Items

Hoshiarpur:- As per the orders of Commissioner Food and Drug Administration Punjab, Hon’ble Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur Mrs. Ashika Jain (IAS) and Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr. Balbir Kumar, Food Safety Officer Mr. Manish Sodhi and Food Safety Team led by District Health Officer Dr. Jatinder Bhatia conducted a special check of food vendors in Tanda and Dasuha areas today. During the check, a total of 6 samples were collected to check the quality of food items.
Out of these, 2 samples of sugar and 2 samples of jaggery were taken from the jaggery makers. Along with this, 1 sample of salt and 1 sample of cereal-based drink were also taken from the food vendors. All these samples have been sent to the Food Lab Kharar for testing and after receiving the report, further action will be taken as per the rules.
Sharing information in this regard, District Health Officer Dr. Jatinder Bhatia and Food Safety Officer Manish Sodhi said that during the checking, strict instructions have been given to the food vendors to follow the FSSAI guidelines, have a valid license and fully comply with the hygiene standards.
He said that if any vendor is found compromising or adulterating the quality of food, strict action will be taken against him as per the law. Keeping in mind the safety of the health of the people, such checking campaigns will continue in the future as well.
