Hoshiarpur:- In order to provide safe and quality food items to the consumers, under the orders of Health Department Hoshiarpur and Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur Mrs. Ashika Jain IAS, under the guidelines of Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr. Balbir Kumar and under the leadership of District Health Officer Dr. Jatinder Bhatia, Food Safety Officer Vivek Kumar and team members collected and checked 6 samples of cakes, pastries, jaggery gachak, vegetable oil and juice including ghee from shops in Hoshiarpur today.
Talking about this, District Health Officer Dr. Jatinder Bhatia said that strict action is being taken against adulteration and substandard food items so that there is no compromise with the health of the public. He said that Food Safety Officer Vivek Kumar and his team have collected juice samples from shops and street vendors near Shivam Hospital. The collected samples have been sent to the food lab for testing and necessary action will be taken based on the report. Dr. Jatinder Bhatia and the food safety team warned the shopkeepers and street vendors to use quality food items and prepare the products in a clean and safe manner. They also appealed to the people to take special care of quality and cleanliness while purchasing food items.
