Food Safety Team Checks Jaggery Making Machines in Hoshiarpur Collects 4 Samples

Hoshiarpur:- Today, Food Safety Team Hoshiarpur conducted a checking campaign to check the quality of food items in different areas of the district. Under the leadership of Food Safety Officer Mr. Vivek Kumar, the team checked the food vendors located in Hoshiarpur city. During which a sample of gajak was collected. Apart from this, jaggery making machines located on Bullowal Road were also checked and two samples of jaggery were collected from there.
In view of the Lohri festival, a total of four samples of flour, jaggery and gajak have been collected to ensure the quality of food items consumed in large quantities by the people. Out of these, one sample has been collected on the basis of a complaint. All the samples have been sent to the food lab in Kharar for testing and further action will be taken as per the rules after receiving the report.
Giving information in this regard, District Health Officer Dr. Jatinder Bhatia said that during the checking, all the food vendors have been given strict instructions to follow the FSSAI guidelines, have a valid license and prepare and sell food in a clean manner. He said that if any vendor is found adulterating food or compromising on quality, strict legal action will be taken against him.
