Fiveday training program concludes at the Extension Education Institute Nilokheri

Nilokheri/Karnal: The five-day training program on "Managerial Skills for Effective Extension Activities" concluded at the Extension Education Institute, Nilokheri, under the Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University. The closing ceremony was presided over by Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Regional Director of the Institute.
In his address, Dr. Kumar stated that due to the rapid changes taking place in the agricultural sector, the role of extension services has become even more important. In such a situation, managerial skills such as time management, teamwork, efficient use of resources, communication skills, and problem-solving skills become even more essential for extension officers.
He stated that the success of any extension activity depends on how the officer plans, understands the needs of farmers, and manages available resources effectively. He expressed hope that this training will help enhance the participants' work efficiency and enable them to perform better in their respective fields.
Regional Director Dr. Kumar also informed that the institute, under the leadership of Professor B.R. Kamboj, Vice Chancellor, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, is training extension officers from departments such as agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries, forestry, and women and child development in the states and union territories of North India.
He also commended the Directorate of Extension, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, for its financial support. He thanked the University's Director of Extension Education, Dr. Balwan Singh Mandal, for his guidance.
Program coordinator Dr. Anil Kumar Rohila stated that extension officers from Haryana, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab participated in this five-day training program. Dr. Rohila stated that during the training, experts provided detailed information to participants on topics such as leadership skills, effective communication, social media, identifying fake information, and managing technologies.
During the training, participants also developed skills through practical activities and group discussions. Dr. Rohila also informed that during the training, participants were also taken on a tour of the Indian Wheat and Barley Research Institute, Karnal.
He also praised the participants for their contributions to their success. Certificates were distributed to the participants during the closing ceremony. Dr. Satyakam Malik and Dr. Ajay Kumar, along with all the institute staff and participants, were present.
