Batala, December 31:- In village Aloval near Batala, five persons were injured in a powerful explosion due to a cylinder blast, out of which three are from the same family (husband-wife and child) and two are brothers. The injured have been admitted to the government hospital in Batala. The condition of some of the injured is said to be serious.
The person scorched in the accident said that he is a daily wager and was making rice to go to work when suddenly gas leaked and the cylinder caught fire. When he picked up the cylinder and threw it outside in the open, the cylinder burst and there was a loud explosion. Due to this, five people came under the grip of fire and got scorched.
The doctor of the government hospital, while giving information, said that a total of five people have been injured, out of which the condition of some remains serious and they will be referred to Amritsar.
