Five arrested with ice drug and two modern pistols
Amritsar:- Amritsar Police has arrested five accused along with arms and drug consignment. Based on intelligence information, Commissionerate Police Amritsar has arrested five accused in the case of smuggling of arms and drugs from across the border and recovered ice drug and illegal weapons.
The arrested accused have been identified as Satnam Singh alias Bindi resident of village Kakkar, Raman resident of Indira Colony, Amritsar, Chirag and Rishabh both residents of Khazana Gate, Amritsar and Vaibhav resident of Baba Deep Singh Enclave, Amritsar. Police have recovered 523 grams of ICE (methamphetamine) and 2 pistols Glock 9 mm from them. In this regard, a case has been registered at Police Station Gate Hakima, Amritsar under NDPS Act and 25/54/59 Arms Act.
Giving information in this regard, Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that during patrolling and search operations aimed at detecting criminal elements, police teams arrested Satnam Singh alias Bindi. During his search, 523 grams of Ice (methamphetamine) and two Glock 9mm pistols were recovered. During interrogation, Satnam Singh revealed that he was supplying the recovered Ice drug to Raman, Chirag, Rishabh and Vaibhav. According to the information, Satnam Singh alias Bindi was in direct contact with a handler named Dhillon based in Australia through the Signal app. The handler used to coordinate the supply of drugs and illegal weapons for smuggling from Pakistan through drones. He said that the Australian handler used to share only identification details and ensure that the supplier and the recipient did not know each other. It is worth mentioning that Ice drug (methamphetamine) is about five times more expensive than heroin.
