First phase of Lions Olympiad concluded Students confidence and determination increased Neha Bhatia
Ratia 17th December:- The first phase of Lions Olympiad concluded successfully today at *Guru Nanak Senior Secondary School*. The Science Olympiad served as the final exam, which was the conclusion of the first phase. On this occasion, the school’s principal, *Neha Bhatia* said that educational programs like Lions Olympiad play an important role in the intellectual development as well as personality development of the students.
She said that this Olympiad not only instilled a sense of competition in the children, but also made them confident, disciplined and determined towards their goals. In today’s competitive era, such platforms provide an opportunity for children to develop logical thinking, problem-solving, time management and decision-making abilities.
Addressing the students on the occasion, *Lions Quest District Chairman Gopal Chand Kulrian* said that educational events like Lions Olympiad are a powerful tool to develop knowledge, confidence and positive thinking in children. He said that Lions Club has always been committed to the all-round development of students, and such events provide them with an opportunity to prove themselves in a competitive environment.
He encouraged the students to prepare wholeheartedly for the upcoming stages and wished them a bright future. He also said that the first stage of the Olympiad was the result of collective efforts of the school, teachers and students. Now, the competition is entering its second stage, which includes selected participants from various schools in North India.
Students who get gold medals according to their class and subject will be selected for the next stage, which will be a matter of pride for the children. Olympiad Coordinator Nishu Jain congratulated all the participating students and informed that the students participated with enthusiasm and dedication in the examinations in all the four subjects: General Knowledge, English, Mathematics and Science. The number of students from classes 6 to 10 respectively was as follows:
**39 students participated in class 6, 35 in class 7, 35 in class 8, 57 in class 9 and 66 in class 10.*
**A total of 232 students participated in the Olympiad.
He said that such competitions not only enhance the academic development of the students but also enhance their personality development, self-presentation and problem-solving abilities. He expressed confidence that the students of the school will continue to excel in the upcoming editions and enhance the pride of the school.
The school administration, teachers, students and management were thanked for the successful organization of the Olympiad. Kavita Giri, Ginni Baghla, Surjit and Club President Lion Harvir Jodha, Zone President Lion Pradeep Bansal, Lion Birbhan Bansal, Lion Dr. Somchand Goyal and other members were present in the closing ceremony. School MD Vijay Narang and Gagandeep Saini thanked the club members.
